Our Employer of the Month Award is an opportunity for the spotlight to shine on one of our current employers who has worked hard to support their apprentice(s), provides progression and career development opportunities, and goes that extra mile to accommodate, drive and promote apprenticeships within the company. This is an opportunity to celebrate apprenticeships and their undeniable value to employers. In order to be awarded Employer of the Month, employers can be nominated by a TDM coach, other TDM members of staff, the mentor within the company, or the apprentice themselves.
Our Employer of the Month Award for November goes to Certainly Wood, the largest specialist producer of barn dried firewood, in the UK.Certainly Wood currently have Charlotte, a Digital Marketing Level 3 Apprentice on programme with them, "expertly" mentored by Sales and Marketing Director, Sandra Taylor. The nomination for Certainly Wood came via Charlotte's Professional Development Coach, Mel Eastwood:
"I would like to put forward Certainly Wood as employer of the month." "Sandra Taylor has expertly mentored Charlotte there and has developed her marketing skills as well as professional skills so brilliantly over the last year."
"Charlotte's skills have gone from basic to now managing major chunks of the marketing for the business and a large part of this is down to Sandra's leadership, mentorship, feedback and investment in her development."
When we informed the team over at Certainly Wood of their Employer of the Month award, Sandra had this to say:
“I have really enjoyed mentoring Charlotte and seeing her rapid progress in the last year.""She started with very little experience, but a big hunger for success, and such a person is easy to mentor.""As an advice to anyone wanting to try an apprenticeship programme, I would say to make sure you listen to feedback and turn it into action.""Charlotte did, and she has grown professionally as well as personally, and I am looking forward to seeing her grow even further.”
Well done and congratulations to the team over at Certainly Wood!
