Level up digital skills and reskill your workforce using Apprenticeship programmes

The organisational need for skills is currency headline news, not just in the UK but globally, just one of the many impacts of the Pandemic on our lives. Sector after sector struggles with recruitment as organisations shift how they operate and demand surges, either in new areas or in sectors that are returning after the initial lockdown; there is the struggle to attract new talent and to replace staff who have moved on. The demand in the tech and digital sector is no different, as organisations have shifted operations online, requiring the support to attract customers and operate digitally. The need for digitally skilled professionals, where there was already a substantial skills gap, has accelerated yet further.So how can this skills shortage be bridged in the workplace? Developing or retraining existing employees can be an integral part of the strategy to address this problem and employers can take advantage of and utilise UK Government funding to implement this via Apprenticeship and Retraining Programmes to do this. A common misconception is that Apprenticeship and Retraining Programmes are solely for younger people to support them into employment or career entry roles. This misconception means that organisations are missing out on substantial opportunities to help retain and reskill their staff:
