Kieran Large worked as a self-employed floor installer for five years before making the big decision to jump into the tech industry. After completing a skills bootcamp with TDM, we are delighted to share he has recently secured an apprenticeship with the Sanctuary Group, an organisation employing over 14,000 staff across various sectors, including Housing, Care, Supported Living, Retirement Living, Students, Property Services, and Development.

Kieran said on receiving the news: '5months ago I left my 5-year career within the flooring trade to pursue a career within the tech industry. Today marks the day I can confidently say that I have achieved my goal and I am so proud of my success story,

I would like to thank everybody I've worked with at TDM, for seeing potential in me 5 months ago, giving me a chance to learn and develop whilst guiding me every step of the way.

If you're on the fence about a career change and it’s something you know you're passionate about, my advice is take the leap of faith and don't look back. I've had many interviews, many obstacles to overcome but all that has lead to this moment'.

Kieran is a former Software Development Student, competent in using HTML, JavaScript and CSS to create functional and modern webpages. He is clerical and computer literate, having been educated in the basics of IT at college. Following the completion of his Software Development Bootcamp, Kieran was looking to secure an apprenticeship in Data, Software Development, or IT.

Kieran believes his Bootcamp 'taught[him] many relevant skills' that are applicable to the pathways he was applying for (Data or Software Development or IT). Relevant skills included 'fixing bugs, analyzing vast amounts of data or even programming'. His e-portofolio, constructed with the help of the TDM team, showcased his relevant skills and qualifications.
