Apprenticeships are for those who want to gain qualifications whilst working full-time. By taking an apprenticeship you will achieve a nationally-recognised standard in your profession. You will follow a training programme and you will be able to apply your skills and knowledge immediately within your workplace.
With a TDM Apprenticeship you will be employed by a company who are investing their time into developing you up as a colleague for the long term. You get to work alongside experienced staff who will help you to develop job-specific skills. So, as an apprentice, you will be gaining new skills and valuable on-the-job experience – whilst earning a salary as you study.
Each employer decides on their own apprentice salary, but they are legally obliged to salary at least the National Apprentice Wage (or National Minimum Wage).
These rates are for the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage. The rates change every April.
Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they’re either:
Example
An apprentice aged 22 in the first year of their apprenticeship is entitled to a minimum hourly rate of £5.28.
Apprentices are entitled to the minimum wage for their age if they both:
Example
An apprentice aged 22 who has completed the first year of their apprenticeship is entitled to a minimum hourly rate of £10.18
