TDM Celebrates Strong Ofsted - Cementing our Position as One of the UK's Leading Providers

We are incredibly proud to share the confirmation of our latest Ofsted inspection outcome, published on 15th July 2026, with Strong judgements across Achievement, Inclusion, and Leadership & Governance, alongside confirmation that safeguarding standards are fully met. For us, this is a reflection of the purposeful, learner-centred and employer-responsive work that takes place across TDM every day.

TDM

At TDM, we have always believed that high-quality education should develop careers and create measurable impact for employers. This latest outcome recognises the strength of that approach and the commitment shown by our learners, employers, coaches, tutors, support teams and leaders.

Under Ofsted’s new inspection framework, a Strong judgement recognises providers working above the expected standards. For TDM, this provides independent recognition of the quality, consistency and impact of our work-based learning model.

Ofsted recognised TDM with Strong judgements for Achievement, Inclusion, and Leadership & Governance. The report also highlighted the organisation’s highly effective approach to identifying and removing barriers to learning, its commitment to supporting learners from all backgrounds, and the quality of leadership driving continuous improvement.

This matters deeply to us because inclusion is not an add-on at TDM. It is central to who we are and why we exist.

More than 65% of TDM learners come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and our mission has always been to widen participation, open up career opportunities and support people who may otherwise face barriers to progression.

As Ely Kent, Director of Operations and Academic Lead, explains:

“Inclusion and achievement are not accidental; they are the result of hard work, dedication, and a truly personalised coaching approach that supports every learner as an individual. Little by little, learner by learner, we are helping to build the career mindset of the future and creating opportunities for both career progression and social mobility.”

That personalised coaching approach sits at the heart of our delivery. Whether someone is starting their first career, retraining into a new sector, progressing within their current role or building towards higher-level study, our role is to help them build confidence, competence and ambition.

Recognition for the whole TDM community

This outcome belongs to everyone connected to TDM.

It belongs to our learners, who work hard to develop new skills, grow professionally and make a difference in their workplaces.

It belongs to our employers, who champion apprenticeships and invest in future talent.

And it belongs to our team, who bring expertise, care and commitment to every learner journey.

Derrin Kent, Managing Director and Director of Studies, said:

“The team at TDM all deserve to be immensely proud of our Strong Achievement judgements from Ofsted. For our Strong Inclusion judgement, we are deeply invested into starting up careers — for both unemployed recruits and employed reskillers — and then taking those people onwards towards BSc (Hons) levels of education, technical skills and professional, productive behaviours for their employer organisations.”

This quote captures something important about TDM’s purpose. We are not simply delivering learning, we are helping people build meaningful careers and helping employers develop the skilled, confident and capable workforces they need for the future.

What this means for employers

For employers, this Strong outcome provides independent validation that TDM delivers far more than training. It confirms that our programmes help build lasting workforce capability, improve performance competence and support businesses to develop the skills they need for the future.

In a fast-changing economy, employers need people who can adapt, learn, problem-solve and apply technical skills in real workplace settings. That is where work-based learning has such powerful value.

Our programmes are designed to connect education and skills directly with business need, helping organisations develop talent in ways that are relevant, measurable, future-focused and deliver return on their investment.

What this means for learners

For learners, the outcome offers reassurance that they are joining a provider recognised nationally for educational quality and for its commitment to helping individuals achieve their full potential.

Every learner journey is different. Some learners join us at the start of their career, others are already employed and looking to reskill, upskill or progress. What connects them is the opportunity to build and develop those valuable skills and create new possibilities for their future.

That is why this Ofsted outcome means so much to us. It recognises not only what learners achieve, but the support, coaching and culture that helps them get there.

Recognition and motivation

We are proud of this outcome, but we also see it as motivation.

We remain focused on its long-term mission, to help people build meaningful careers, help employers develop high-performing workforces, and to prove that outstanding educational outcomes can be achieved through genuinely work-based learning that changes lives.

This is a significant moment for TDM. But more importantly, it is a moment to recognise the collective effort behind the result - our staff, learners, employers and wider community.

Strong in achievement. Strong in inclusion. Strong in leadership. Strong in purpose.

And we are only getting stronger.
